What you pay for

The fee covers the control plane and Evidence workflow.

  • Customer-owned storage is billed by its provider. A configured customer-owned S3 destination uses the customer's AWS account for storage and egress billing.
  • Restores run on your machine. Operator-run restores pull from your bucket through the CLI on a host you control. There is no Walwarden restore-compute charge.
  • The subscription buys the control plane. Scheduling, signed manifests, the append-only audit chain, and the Evidence exports built for independent verification with their matching public key and a successful verifier run; publication alone is not proof.

Why not the built-in backups?

Provider recovery and configured S3 backups serve different workflows.

Walwarden supports scheduled logical backups for Supabase and Neon to a configured customer-owned S3 destination. Provider recovery behavior remains governed by the provider; Walwarden does not replace it.

Configured customer-owned destinationBackup uploads target the configured S3 destination; operator-run restore uses the CLI and a presigned read.
Evidence, not screenshotsSigned manifests and Evidence exports can be verified offline with their matching public key when publication readiness is available.

Honest about what ships

Today, every plan runs scheduled logical backups with operator-run restores and signed evidence, on Supabase and Neon. Finer-grained recovery and more providers are on the roadmap — we'll tell you when a capability is in your account, and we won't put it on your invoice before then.

Paid links are navigation to Stripe checkout only. Leaving Walwarden does not confirm a purchase or plan change; signed-in billing state remains the source for current plan and status.

One database on the Free plan is enough to produce signed Evidence; independent verification requires its matching public key, with publication readiness shown explicitly.
